  Sniper bullets don't do anything to the Flood. I found that out the hard way...Shotgun is by far the best weapon you can get for dealing with these. That and AR.

    Yeah, for sure. The only time I tried using the sniper on the flood was the one where you were trying to rescue keyes, and you were under the ship. There was a pool and two hunters struggling against the flood across the ways. i took out the hunters with the rifle, but then turned it to the flood, and nothing. Wasted a bunch of rounds placing them in different places trying to find a weak spot. Alas. The chest should have been the weak spot based on the novels, because that's where the spore thing is.

      I still freeze for half a second every time I face the Hunters. Never got used to them, even though they're horrendously easy to kill. Odd thing, many people say that Hunters in Halo 2 are more deadly than those in Halo CE. I found it quite the opposite. One compact plasma cannon blast would usually kill me in CE whereas in Halo 2 I could survive several subsequent plasma cannon beams.

        Yeah, I'm not sure about the blasts, I never fight them at a range where that is feasible. If they kill me it's always from being bashed to death. I like to go in with the pistol or battle rifle, and fire immediately after the swing. More danger that way. Quicker also than trying to get behind them with no support.

        If I'm in a hurry, I use the launcher. If I have time, I like to get as close as possible and either try my luck with melee or use pistol/shotgun. I rarely use the sniper. Not a huge fan.

        I'm a big sniper in campaign, and I was a very good sniper in halo 2 multiplayer, but I fail at life at it now. I still go for it, but it doesn't necessarily do as well for me as it could.

        I guess I prefer to be in the heart of the battle rather than on a safe distance, picking enemies out. I'm decent at sniping, I think, but still.

        I just like killing people and them having no idea where I am. I played the battlefield:bad company demo last night, and sniping was fun, just bam and they drop, have no idea where I am.

        That's certainly something I didn't give enough thought. Put like that, it sounds much more appealing. Though lately, I often get stuck in one place, normally inside a building with a Banshee parked right at the exit, shooting at me whenever I try to get out. Talk about unfair.
